Sauk Valley Bank is 14,000 sf two-story community banking facility located within the renewal area of Sterling Illinois on the banks of the Rock River. The design incorporates an open banking plan with south facing clerestory bay lighting filling the main bank space with natural light. The
customer area, from the two-story glass entry way through the lobby and teller line, is encompassed by open work settings and glass offices all focused on customer interaction.

The building’s exterior design palette incorporates brick, gray glass and corten steel, reflecting the steel mill history of the sterling community. The building is sited into the hillside adjacent to the river with a one-story steel beam and column glass façade together with the two-story glass lantern lobby. The downtown view of the building reflects and open and inviting pavilion to the community.
