As the largest of four new fire stations in the City of Minneapolis, this 17,500 sf station is designed to be compatible with its residential surroundings while improving response times to the lakes and the southern portions of the city. Fire Station No. 27 has a “double house” that accommodates both an engine company and a hook and ladder unit. The station also has living quarters, a kitchen, fitness room, and washing and drying facilities.

The Minneapolis Fire Station #27 won the 1994 City of Minneapolis Committee of Urban Environment Award for Design and Aesthetic Excellence.
