The City of Owatonna retained BKV Group to complete an addition to the existing 8,200 sf 1900 historic library. The 15,000 sf expansion is designed with careful sensitivity to the historic structure. The two-level scheme locates the children’s book area on the lower level and includes a flexible program and story telling area with a movable acoustic wall system. The adult areas are located on the upper level. The efficient layout allows for a significant increase in space without increasing staffing levels.
