North Hennepin Community College – Center for Business and Technology

The North Hennepin Community College Center for Business and Technology (CBT) project includes a 30,000 sf addition and a complete renovation of the existing 34,000 sf structure. The project scope includes the creation of technology enhanced teaching environments, relocation of the college’s technology infrastructure and main servers, and the creation of contemporary teaching environments in the existing building while repairing deferred maintenance issues within the existing exterior walls, roof, and skylights.

The new addition proposes to reorient the skewed geometry of the existing building back into alignment with the campus grid and reintroduce brick surfaces that are more harmonious with the existing campus character. The new south façade will feature a fitted glass curtain wall diffusing light into the interior spaces while forming a backdrop to a new campus green to the south.
